Russian captain of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin congratulated the fans on the upcoming New Year.

The day before, the Russian was unable to extend his seven-game points streak in the NHL, which began back in November, before he suffered a broken leg and missed more than a month. Returning to the lineup, he scored points in two matches in a row.
It was previously reported that Alexander Ovechkin is the only active NHL player who scored 100+ goals in December.
