“I would have done that”

Victor Pițurcă, the former Romanian coach, found out what Alex Mitriță did at the national team and drew a harsh conclusion.

“Satan” didn’t think too much and immediately gave the verdict.

Victor Pițurcă’s reaction about what Alex Mitriță did at the national team. Clear verdict on Mircea Lucescu’s decision: “That’s what I would have done”

Alexandru Mitriță was absent for approximately two years from the first national team following disagreements with Edi Iordănescu. The star of the University of Craiova also missed the invitation to the European Championship.

Now, Mitriță returned with a goal to the national team and scored in the goal of Lithuania, score 3-1. Immediately after the goal, the footballer went to Mircea Lucescu and hugged the current coach.

In the mandate of Edi Iordănescu, Mitrita would have taken down his defenders during a training session and would have conveyed that he no longer wants to hear from the national team

Victor Pițurcă condemns the gesture and says that he would not have summoned him again: “If he has some unusual things, which he had with another coach, before me, I would not have summoned him”.

“I don’t know if these results could be achieved with any coach, it’s the credit of Mircea Lucescu, it’s the credit of the players. I won’t be embarrassed now to say that any coach would do what Mircea Lucescu does.

Discipline is very important in any field. I don’t force the players. They only wrote nonsense about the national team. I got along with the players very well, I made them relaxed before big matches, but also focused. Whoever came out of the frame, I had nothing to do with him.

I don’t know what Mitrița did. If so, it’s a very ugly gesture on his part, but I don’t know, I didn’t know something like that happened.

If I believe in a player, I’m sure to call him up, no matter what happened. If he has some unusual things, which he would have had with another coach, before me, I would not have summoned him”, said Victor Pițurcă, at Digi Sport.
