The Latvian Center for Environment, Geology and Meteorology reports that on January 14, from 01:00 to 08:00, ice is expected in places in the eastern regions of Latvia – an ice crust will form on roads, trees, wires and other surfaces.
Icy conditions may disrupt traffic in some areas. Residents are urged to be careful when walking, cycling or driving as icy conditions form on the roads.
Ice will also cover other surfaces, including wires and tree branches – the more fragile ones may break due to the increased weight.
