The candidate for the presidency of the USA, Donald Trump, said that he intends to reduce the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation if he wins the elections, reports Bloomberg.
The Republican presidential candidate was asked if he had ever considered easing or lifting sanctions against Russia as part of the deal he talked about to end the war in Ukraine.
“Yes. What we’re doing with sanctions is driving everyone away from us. This is why I don’t like sanctions. I found them very useful with Iran, but with Iran I didn’t even need the sanctions that much. We said that to China, and Russia is in a similar situation. I told China… I informed people, and I don’t think China is bad. But I made people understand that China has been stealing from this country for 30 years, under every president, and I’m the only one who has received huge amounts of money, hundreds of billions of dollars from China,” said Trump.
Former US President Donald Trump also stated that during his tenure he “got along well” with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The Republican claims that if he had run the White House, the Kremlin leader would not have launched a large-scale aggression against Ukraine.
“Putin and I got along very well in our relationship. We were never threatened with war. He would never have gone to Ukraine. I told him: Never, never go to Ukraine,” Trump said.
The Republican presidential candidate also said the world is “dangerous” and that World War III could break out soon. According to him, the current US President Joe Biden is “incompetent” and called his team, “fascists”.
“We didn’t have war, we had peace, we didn’t have problems. We had no war. No war except ISIS. We finished them in a very short period of time,” Trump said.
Former US Secretary of State John Kerry said Putin would gain “more power” if Trump wins the November election. According to him, Ukraine will have to fight alone with Russia if the Republican returns to the White House.
