Introductory
One just three years ago Indiegogo campaign in the context of crowdfunding, CraftUnique was launched on the filament 3D printer market. With its attractive specifications and relatively low price tag, the team’s first machine, CraftBot, won the trust of its supporters, and the company exploded into the public consciousness. The CraftBot got it the Best Cheap 3D Printer award from 3DHubs magazine last year. In addition, Craftbot Plus also won an award, the the best Plug & Play printer. He has already visited us CraftBot 2to which we were also able to give a recommended plecsni. The subject of our current test is the company’s newest machine, the impressive CraftBot XL.
The manufacturer does not have an easy task, competing companies are also coming out with larger printers than before, and as in so many areas, there are an increasingly significant number of usable copies among Chinese printers. As a result, it was necessary to launch a new product on the market in such a way that it had more knowledge and functionality than its predecessors, but at the same time they could not lose sight of the price. Let’s see what the Hungarian team has brought together!
Even the box of the CraftBot XL is huge (600 x 460 x 760 mm), the printer itself spreads over an area of 490 x 360 x 640 mm, which is combined with a net weight of 21 kg. The size of the tray increased by 10 square centimeters, from 250 x 200 mm to 300 x 200 mm, the really serious change can be seen along the vertical axis, we can print 44 cm objects instead of 20.
In the packaging of the CraftBot XL, in addition to the printer, we get a USB cable, spool holder and plastic fiber guide, a set of hex keys and a demo reel, which means half a kilo of PLA filament. In addition, we can also try PLA in two other colors, 20 meters of which are provided by the manufacturer. Compared to its predecessors, the XL is only available in carbon gray (anthracite) color, and if the order number is sufficient, the company can also satisfy individual needs, but for this at least 20 machines must be purchased at the same time. The tray is also covered this time, there is no extra charge for this in the package. For HUF 8,500, you can buy 3 spare parts, but as long as it is not damaged, it practically does not need to be replaced.

The machine comes with a Nozzle Kit, in which we find 0.25, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 mm MK8 nozzles, as well as the key required for replacement. Since the manufacturer packages the printer ready for use, i.e. the tray is leveled and equipped with Kapton, the customers become owners of a total of two of the 0.4 mm nozzles. Unfortunately, there is still no marking on the nozzles, so you have to pay attention to the correct storage, otherwise you can easily mix them up.
