IFA 2024: Aqua brought several new smart home devices

In case of emergency, we can shut off water and gas remotely or even automatically with the Valve Controller T1.

We saw several new products of Aquara, known in the smart home world, at the company’s stand. Let’s start the series with the Valve Controller T1, which is a device that can be installed on the shut-off ball valve of the incoming water or gas line, with which the service can be shut off remotely. This means, for example, that if one of the sensors connected to the system detects a broken pipe, gas leak, fire, or similar trouble, it can even shut off the water or gas by itself, minimizing damage.

The new product seen at the other stand is the 4MP Camera Hub G5 Pro, an outdoor IP camera in PoE and Wi-Fi versions. The main strength of the device, which provides a colorful image even in complete darkness, will be the object, pet and face recognition implemented using AI, so our smart home system can use it to indicate when a package has arrived, and to transmit textually (that is, in a way that can be displayed in a message or notification) which of our friends is there. just in front of the door, or with the help of the sprinkler system to prevent our dog from digging up the cucumber bushes. G5 Pro independently supports Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings systems and provides RTSP communication.

Finally, the third product we would like to mention is the U200 smart lock. This is not a real novelty, it was not revealed in the framework of IFA, the reason why we would cover it here is the support of Matter over Thread.

The unit consists of two parts, the module to be installed inside the door, which actually controls the lock, and the external keypad that communicates wirelessly with it, which can also be opened with a fingerprint reader. In this way, the existing lock is also preserved, so we can enter the apartment with the key we have used so far, but this can be supplemented with our fingerprint, our phone, a shareable PIN code, and even remote control, if appropriate.
