IFA review – “All expectations exceeded”

According to the organizer, IFA 2024 was a great success with 215,000 visitors and over 1,800 exhibitors on the 100th anniversary of the electronics trade fair.

It was an ambitious concept with a comprehensive facelift that the organizers under trade fair director Leif Lindner presented for the 100th anniversary celebration of the IFA, and it has clearly worked: 215,000 visitors were counted under the radio tower over the five days, around 30,000 more than expected. Among them were 133,000 trade visitors. There was particularly strong growth from abroad, from the USA, Italy, France, Poland, Korea and Great Britain. Sara Warneke, Managing Director of gfu Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH and owner of the IFA brand: “The IFA 100 exceeded all our expectations.”

The visitors not only kept the 1,800 exhibitors’ stands busy, but also frequented the summer garden during its comeback. There were concerts by Bryan Adams and Faithless, among others, as well as performances by German hip-hop stars for a younger audience. The trend topics for products this year included artificial intelligence, sustainability and digital health.

Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Berlin Management GmbH, says: “What a wonderful party for IFA’s 100th birthday and what an amazing year for the world’s leading technology trade fair. We are very grateful to the entire industry, all trade visitors, the public and the media for coming to Berlin and making IFA 100 an unforgettable event. We are very pleased with the large number of bookings already made by our exhibitors for IFA 2025.”

The next IFA is scheduled to take place in Berlin from September 5 to 9, 2025.
