Ikea is recalling the Varmfront power bank – so you can check if yours is dangerous

Some of Ikea’s battery packs can cause fire, so the company chooses to recall them with immediate effect.

Ikea is now issuing a call to customers who have purchased the Varmfront battery packs to check the model numbers of their units, and immediately stop using them if they belong to the affected models.

The units covered are Warmfront 10400 mAh (model number E2038) with date stamp (yyyy) 2313, 2316, 2318 or 2319, and Warmfront 5200 mAh (model number E2037) with date stamp (yyyy) 2318, 2319 or 2322.

Warm fronts with other date stamps are not affected by the recall.

Ikea urges you to stop using them immediately and contact them for a replacement product or a full refund. No receipt is required.

To check if your Varmfront is among the affected, look at the back in the lower right corner (see image).
