IL wants support for supplements for pregnant women and study on extending parental leave

The Liberal Initiative (IL) presented its third package of measures for the discussion of the State Budget for 2025, in which it defends the support of supplements for pregnant women and the creation of a study on the extension of parental leaves.

There is also support for families and people with disabilities, among the measures presented this Wednesday by Rui Rocha.

The party intends to implement a proposal to reduce VAT to the minimum rate on baby food.

“We will insist that foster families can be candidates for adoption and we will insist on childcare vouchers”, he adds.

With regard to support for people with disabilities, IL proposes exemption from IMT and stamp duty.

In this presentation, Rui Rocha announces that the party will propose a proposal to reduce IRC for companies.

The party defends a reduction of 12% for national companies and 15% for multinationals.

Rui Rocha considers this to be the essential measure for creating investment and competitiveness.

The liberal leader states that “the discussion is not about one point” in the Budget, but through the creation of conditions “to have bigger companies, which grow. We attract investment and, with that, defeat the country’s economic stagnation”.

The party regrets the noise surrounding the OE discussion and speaks of the irony of the moment we are living in, pointing the finger at the PS and also at CHEGA.

“The PS is looking for pretexts to vote against a Budget that could very well be socialist and Chega is looking for pretexts to vote in favor”, he states.

The OE for 2025 will be delivered this Thursday to the Assembly of the Republic.
