In Nazirhat market of Phatikchari, sub-shops were set up by occupying the footpaths, public roads were narrowed by placing goods on the footpaths and eviction operations were conducted against all types of illegal market structures. Meanwhile, 5 people were fined 10,000 taka.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Administrator of Nazirhat Municipality Md. Mezbah Uddin conducted the operation on October 6 (Sunday) afternoon.
It is known that this campaign was conducted against all illegal establishments in the market by occupying the sidewalk. At that time, the Local Government (Municipality), Act 2009, fined 2 thousand and 5 people 10 thousand taka for the crime of narrowing the public road by placing goods on the sidewalk and illegal construction.
In this regard, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Administrator of Nazirhat Municipality Mejbah Uddin said – Operation has been conducted to free the footpath encroachment in Nazirhat market. This campaign will continue in the future.
