A down-to-earth choice, that’s how you could easily describe this Toyota Corolla when it was new. A sedan, nice and traditional, nice and reliable and with its 1.3 also nice and modest. Even the color was not that striking at the time, although it stands out beautifully in the current, rather boringly colored Dutch fleet. Not only because of its color, of course, but also because you simply hardly ever encounter such a Corolla anymore. If you want it to be even more striking, you should look for the liftback version of this generation. But hey, that’s not what we’re talking about right now. We are talking about a 1985 Toyota that costs no less than €5,995. That sounds like a lot of money for what you get. Yet we understand the seller’s efforts, because we can’t find another Corolla in this condition. It still looks beautiful in its green paint, the bumpers are still neatly black and we didn’t even spot any flash rust on the steel wheels in the photos. The interior also looks remarkably fresh considering its age. It is largely thanks to the person who sold the car last year after no less than 36 years. The car didn’t have it to eat up miles, because the 1.3 twelve-valve (yes, three valves per cylinder) has only been driven for just under 79,000 km. Even the original radio is still present, so all in all it really feels like you are shopping among the young Toyota used cars in the late 80s when you look at this car. It is located in Den Dungen, around the corner from Maaskantje, where they are especially fond of another green 80s car.
