Important claim for ceasefire in Gaza

In the news of state television KAN, it was stated that Israel’s offer included a limited ceasefire in exchange for the release of some Israelis held captive by Hamas in Gaza.

It was reported that the ceasefire proposal did not include the withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza.

It was noted that Netanyahu sent Ronen Bar, the head of Israel’s domestic intelligence agency Shin-Bet, to Cairo to discuss the ceasefire proposal with Egyptian officials.

In the news of Israel’s Walla news site, it was shared that Shin-Bet Chairman Bar presented the proposal he received from Egyptian Intelligence Agency Hasan Mahmud Reşad regarding the resumption of ceasefire talks at yesterday’s cabinet meeting.

It was stated that Bar met with Reşad yesterday in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

It was reported that Rashad, the head of the Egyptian Intelligence Agency, presented Ronen Bar with the outlines of a small agreement that would “carry the ceasefire negotiations with Hamas into a larger agreement.”

It was stated that the agreement in question included the release of some Israeli prisoners held in Gaza in exchange for a few days of ceasefire.

WORKS GAINED SPEED

In the news of Israel Hayom newspaper, it was noted that the cabinet appointed Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer to create a more detailed and in-depth strategy on the issue.

It was stated that efforts to release Israelis held captive in Gaza gained momentum after the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinvar.

No statement has been made yet by Egypt, Qatar and Hamas regarding the new proposal.

Indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in the Gaza Strip, mediated by Egypt, Qatar and the USA, have been going on for months.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s insistence on continuing the attacks on Gaza and not withdrawing from Gaza is disrupting the ceasefire negotiations.

In Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 42 thousand 603 Palestinians, including approximately 17 thousand children and 11 thousand 378 women, died and 99 thousand 795 people were injured.

While it is reported that there are still thousands of dead under the rubble, civilian infrastructure is also being destroyed by targeting hospitals and educational institutions where people took shelter.
