Important details about the upcoming MacBook Pro with M4 revealed ahead of launch

Remember the incident in 2010 when an iPhone 4 prototype was left in a bar in California by an Apple employee?

Well, the company is now dealing with what appears to be one of the most significant leaks in its recent history. This time, the protagonist is the next generation of 14-inch MacBook Pro, equipped with the M4 processor.

The saga of revelations

It all started with the publication of photos of the box on the X platform and culminated in the posting of several videos on YouTube by users in Russia.

Specifically, two in number. In both clips, the new laptop is shown in detail. According to leaked materials, the device will be launched next month and brings some notable improvements over the previous generation.

Technical specifications

They indicate an M4 processor with 10 GPU cores and 10 CPU cores, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

A significant novelty is the presence of three Thunderbolt 4 ports, compared to only two in the current model, as well as the introduction of a new color: Space Black. Silver and Space Gray will also continue to be available.

According to the Geekbench 6 tests presented in the materials on YouTube, the laptop recorded scores of 3,864 for single-core and 15,288 for multi-core.

The active cooling system seems to allow the processor to achieve superior performance compared to the same version implemented in the iPad Pro.

The official release

Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman believes that Apple will officially announce the new lineup of laptops with M4 chips later this month.

The release is scheduled for November 1st. The line-up will not lack both 14 and 16-inch versions of the MacBook Pro, as well as a redesigned Mac mini.

There will also be a new iMac. All of these will have various variants of the M4 processor.

What we know so far

The source, or sources, of these revelations is, for now, unclear. According to some speculations, it would come from a warehouse.

There would also be information about the alleged existence of 200 units available for sale through private groups created on Facebook.

Despite the still unverified authenticity of these leaks, many of the specs presented seem plausible, especially given that the M4 processor already debuted on the iPad Pro earlier this year.
