VodafoneZiggo again saw broadband customers leave in the second quarter, almost 27,400, according to Numbers from parent company Liberty Global. In 2023, the company had 3.6 million broadband customers, now it has 3.4 million. Customers are leaving en masse for fiber optic providers.
However, 4,600 business broadband customers were added, so the damage was still somewhat limited.
This time, quite a few mobile customers also left, although Vodafone has more mobile (postpaid) customers than a year ago, namely 319,400. The decline is due to the fact that contracts with government agencies were not renewed.
The number of convergent customers (fixed and mobile) decreased by 10,000. Also, fewer and fewer customers are taking fixed telephony, 55,000 customers cancelled their fixed line in the second quarter.
Sales rose 1.5 percent year-on-year to over 1 billion euros. However, the quarter ended with a loss of 14.5 million euros, compared to 117 million a year earlier.
