Swiss tennis player Stan Wawrinka said goodbye to the challenger Slovak Open already in the 2nd round of singles.

The favored Swiss Stan Wawrinka said goodbye to the Bratislava audience after only two matches.




The three-time Grand Slam champion lost on Thursday evening to the talented Croatian Dino Prižmič 2:6, 6:4, 3:6. Wawrinka started with Bratislava NTC thanks to a free card.

While the Swiss is currently ranked 149th in the world, his 19-year-old conqueror is only in the 380th position. Nevertheless, this big difference was not visible at all on the court of NTC in Bratislava.

Prižmič surprised his opponent with his aggressive game and accurate shots to the baseline already in Wednesday’s 1st round, when he knocked out the favored Italian Luca Nardi 6:3, 6:4 after a clear course.
