In Daugavpils, a motorcyclist fleeing from the police faces 20 administrative violation proceedings

On Sunday, police officials recorded that a motorcycle was driving without the dipped headlights on in the dark of the day on the Great Street. The law enforcement officers turned on the beacon, the special horn and called the motorcycle driver to stop, but the man did not do it and started to run away.

The motorcycle did not have a state registration number plate and mandatory civil vehicle insurance, nor had a state technical inspection been performed. The motorcyclist blatantly ignored road traffic rules, overtaking several times without using the turn signals, which created a danger to other road users. Several times the man exceeded the permitted driving speed, reaching 86 kilometers per hour (km/h) in a place where the maximum permitted speed is 50 km/h. Also, the motorcycle driver did not follow the “Give way” road sign.

The law enforcement officers managed to find and arrest the motorcyclist. The motorcycle “XTR609” was driven by a man born in 2000, who has not obtained a driver’s license in the prescribed manner.

In connection with the incident, 20 administrative violation proceedings were initiated against the man for violations of various road traffic rules, and a fine of 1,460 euros was imposed, as well as six warnings.
