Make surface compost with the plants at the end of production

In autumn, tomatoes that are still green should be picked to ripen indoors or left on site, to form surface compost. A compost to protect and nourish the soil, which can also be made with bean or zucchini plants that are no longer producing, for example.

All you need to do is cut the vegetables that have fallen to the ground into pieces, as well as the aerial parts of the plants at the end of production. Leave them there to dry out, then decompose.. Above all, do not uproot the plants, since as they decompose, the roots will also help to enrich the soil in the vegetable garden.
