In principle, this is what the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max cameras will look like –

At least according to the latest leaks.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are expected to share all four of their cameras — three on the back, one on the front — according to a new leak from China’s Digital Chat Station. Rumor has it that the front-facing camera will be upgraded to 24 MP, which could be a significant improvement in the quality of selfies and video calls.

On the back, we will find a 48 MP main camera that uses a 1/1.3 inch sensor. This is joined by a 48MP ultra-wide camera and a 48MP periscope telephoto lens that offers 5x optical zoom. Compared to the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models, the sensor of the main camera will be slightly smaller, while the resolution of the periscope telephoto lens will increase.

While the changes between the cameras may seem minimal at first glance, it’s likely that Apple will put a lot of emphasis on highlighting these fine-tunings during the September unveiling.

The leak also mentions that the current Pro prototypes will feature a horizontal camera layout on the back, which has been rumored in the past. However, according to another Weibo user, the final design will not be decided until around March. Based on this, it is conceivable that the design of the new iPhone 17 Pro models has not yet been fully completed.
