In Serbia, the 100 largest companies achieved 29.3 percent of the revenue of the entire economy

The Serbian economy operated profitably in 2023 with the contribution of the 100 companies with the highest business revenues and the 100 companies with the highest net profit, according to the Report on the “HUNDRED BEST… companies in 2023” published today by the Economic Agency registers (APR).

In addition to the analysis, the report lists the first 100 companies by business income, net profit, business assets and capital, net loss and total loss.

In 2023, one hundred business companies with the highest business income achieved 29.3 percent of the business income of the entire economy, participating on average in the basic financial indicators with 26.6 percent, and they employed 212,480 workers, i.e. 16.2 percent of the total number of employees in the economy societies.

The entire amount of business income was generated by large systems, of which 73 are creditworthy, one with excellent creditworthiness, and 34 with very good creditworthiness.

The largest number of these companies (87) stood out for high business income and the previous year.

Financial indicators

It was specified that the 100 companies with the highest net profit in 2023 achieved 44.4 percent of the net profit of the entire economy.

In the main financial indicators, they participated on average with 25.4 percent, and employed 141,512 workers, i.e. 10.8 percent of the total number of workers in the economy.

In terms of high profitability, large companies stood out the most (86), while medium-sized (nine) and micro companies (five) recorded a significant increase in net profit.

On the list of 100 companies with a positive net result, 70 are creditworthy, three of which have excellent creditworthiness, and 52 very good, while the majority of companies on that list (71) were among the most profitable last year as well.

Out of 111,736 companies, a total of 353 companies were ranked with the greatest impact on the basic financial performance of the economy, based on the analysis of data from regular annual financial reports for 2023 on business success, financial capacity and loss.

EPS

The most successful company in 2023 is Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) with 8.7 percent of net profit and 2.7 percent of operating income of the economy.

“Successful business EPS– was achieved by using considerable financial resources, and it is in the first place in terms of engaged business assets”, says the Report published on the APR website.

Successful companies in terms of profitability, with large business revenues and valuable financial capacities are the company Srbija Ziđin Mining (Bor), NIS (Novi Sad), Telekom, Srbija Ziđin Koper and Srbijagas.

On the list of losers are the company Hip-Petrohemija (Pančevo), “Putevi Srbije” (Belgrade), the companies “Peu Resavica” and Elektrokosmet Priština, as well as PUK City Traffic Company Belgrade.
