In St. Petersburg, a policeman saved a tourist who jumped into the Neva to get a fallen phone

The police major pulled both the man and his gadget out of the water.

In St. Petersburg, a tourist who found himself in the water near the Palace Embankment was rescued.

The incident occurred last Sunday, July 21, during a rehearsal of the Main Naval Parade, reported the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk on her Telegram channel.

According to her, at some point one of the tourists, who was watching the ships passing along the river, dropped his phone. The 39-year-old man, without thinking, jumped into the Neva to get his smartphone, but was no longer able to get out on his own.

The deputy head of the Public Security Department of the UMVD for the Central District of St. Petersburg, police major Denis Sorokin, who was nearby, came to the aid of the guest of the Northern capital. The policeman helped the tourist climb up to the embankment and picked up his phone from the bottom.
