In the Northern capital, they are preparing to remove the classification of secrecy from some archival documents of the 20th century.

An expert commission at a meeting at the Archive Committee of St. Petersburg reviewed materials from 887 cases, including documents from the Second World War, the press service of the city administration reported.

Smolny noted that the documents cover the period from 1901 to 1993, including the Second World War. Thus, in St. Petersburg they want to declassify 430 files from the foundation of Vladimir Rdultovsky, a designer of artillery ammunition, explosive devices and fuses.

After the classification of secrecy is removed, the documents are planned to be transferred to open storage.

Earlier it became known that St. Petersburg had established increased payments to veterans for the Victory anniversaries.
