In the Northern capital, dismantling of the city’s main New Year’s tree began last night – the spruce tree on Palace Square. The Petersburg Diary writes about this.
The media, citing the deputy head of the city Center for Advertising and Festive Decoration Nikolai Popchenkov, clarifies that the work will last from five to seven days.
Let us remind you that earlier the St. Petersburg Christmas tree became the winner in the “Christmas Trees of Russia” competition. For the fluffy beauty from the Northern capital voted 56% of survey participants’ votes on social networks.
This year the spruce tree on Dvortsovaya was decorated in retro style. The holiday tree featured more than 300 toys, hand-painted by artists and reflecting the city’s cultural heritage. The tree was also decorated with 7 thousand meters of LED garlands, 300 meters of retro garlands, as well as 300 meters of streamers. The lights on the St. Petersburg spruce were solemnly lit on December 21.
