In the first ten months of the year, 25,357 companies were established in the Czech Republic, which is the most since 2018. However, a record 13,857 of them disappeared. Even so, 11,500 companies were added to the Czech Republic this year, eight percent more than last year. This follows from an analysis of the data of the Informazione o fermích portal, which was provided to ČTK by the company CRIF – Czech Credit Bureau.
“This year is one of the strongest in terms of the founding of companies. The number of companies in the Czech Republic is currently close to 600,000, so it is understandable that the number of defunct companies increases over time,” said CRIF analyst Věra Kameníčková. This year, there were 18 new ones for ten defunct companies, the same as last year.
In October, 2,803 companies entered the Czech market, which is above average compared to the rest of the year. At the same time, 1,590 of them disappeared, the most for the entire year. In October, 1,213 companies were added in the Czech Republic.
The most companies in the first ten months of this year were established in Prague, namely 12,935. There were 2,982 in the South Moravian Region and 1,847 in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The largest number of companies also disappeared in Prague, 7,729. There were 1,368 in the South Moravian Region and 923 in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
Vysočina dominates the highest ratio of established to the number of defunct companies, where 34 new companies were created for every ten defunct companies. This means that the number of companies is increasing at the fastest rate in this region. The number of companies did not decrease in any of the regions, only in Ústeck their number stagnated, almost the same number of companies left the market as entered the market.
From January to October, the largest number of firms were established in the trade sector, 2,984. In real estate management, there were 2,836, and in the manufacturing industry, 2,581. The largest number of firms closed in the trade sector, namely 4,153. In real estate management, there were 2,787, and in professional, scientific and technical activities 1999, CRIF said.
According to her, the reduction in the number of companies in the field of trade continues, where seven new companies were added to ten companies that disappeared this year. Trade is thus still the only sector in which the number of defunct companies outweighs the number of established ones. The number of companies in real estate management is also stagnating, where roughly the same number of companies were created this year as they disappeared.
The fastest growing number of companies is in the sector of other activities, which includes the repair of products for personal use or the provision of personal services such as hairdressing, cosmetics and washing and cleaning of textile products, where 71 new companies were added to ten companies that disappeared. Companies in the electricity, gas and heat production and distribution sector are also increasing at a rapid pace. Here, 68 new companies accounted for 10 defunct companies, according to the data.
