In the 2025 World Motocross Championship, one stage for crews is planned for Madona

In the temporary calendar of the championship, Latvia has been allocated the eighth stage, which is scheduled for August 16-17 in Madona.

The last time the stage of the world motocross championship for crews was held in Latvia was in 2019, when the stage of the competition took place for the fifth year in a row at the “Pīlādžu” motor track in Stelpe parish.

In the 2025 championship, ten stages are planned. The competition is planned to start on May 3 and 4 at an as-yet-unnamed track in the Netherlands. After that, stages in the Czech Republic, Great Britain, France, Poland, Belgium and Germany are planned, where the athletes will compete on July 19 and 20 before going to Latvia. After the Madonna stage, another competition is planned in France and Belgium, where it is planned to reward the prize winners on September 20 and 21.

The season will end a week later with the Nations Cup competition at the Dutch track in Heerde.

In the past season, 18-year-old Latvian motor sportsmen Daniels and Bruno Lielbārži became world vice-champions. They amassed 401 points, trailing only Belgians Marvin Vanluchen and Glenn Jansen, who amassed 422 points. Third with 379 points were French athletes Kilian and Evan Prunier.

Last year, playing their first full season in the world championship, Daniel and Bruno Lielbarži took the fifth place in the overall standings, while the Belgian Marvin Vanluchen with the “canter” Nicolas Musset from France became the champions.
