Members of the regional government visited the local library, transformed according to the model standard, checked the progress of the comprehensive renovation of the buildings of the central regional hospital and inspected the Golden Key kindergarten.
Vasily Anokhin instructed to additionally update the facade of the central district hospital and landscape its territory, gradually renovate the kindergarten building and equip it with new furniture.
– According to the tradition that has developed on such trips, we visited the local branch of Smolavtodor. We checked the condition of the cleaning and road equipment – most of the fleet is in working order, but some machines require repairs. We will help put them in order, and we will also purchase a new grader next year,” said the head of the region.
Vasily Anokhin spoke at a meeting with local residents about what has already been done in the Dukhovshchinsky district in the past year. And they, in turn, set new urgent tasks for officials, which have already been taken into account.
In 2024, 23.4 kilometers of roads were repaired here. The renovation of 18.4 kilometers on the Yartsevo – Dukhovshchina highway is now being completed. To maintain roads, the municipality purchased several units of special equipment at the expense of the regional budget.
– Residents drew attention to the congestion of public transport. To solve the problem, we will allocate an additional bus, which will arrive in the coming days,” Anokhin promised.
Repairs of utility networks, water supply and sewerage facilities are planned for 2025 in the Dukhovshchinsky district. This will improve the quality and reliability of public services. This year, the municipality overhauled the water supply networks in the Bulgakovsky and Prechistinsky settlements, and reconstructed the boiler room of the public bathhouse in Dukhovshchina.
Significant funds were allocated to the healthcare sector. Thanks to this, a paramedic and midwifery station was erected in Petrishchevo, and the building of the clinic of the Ozerninsky district hospital is being renovated. Next year we will continue the comprehensive renovation of the Dukhovshchina Central District Hospital and build a first aid station in the village of Savino,” said the Smolensk governor.

Also this year, the roof of the Tretyakov School was repaired, the heating system of the Skazka kindergarten in Ozerny and the water supply system in the school swimming pool were updated, and a multifunctional sports ground was built. The reconstruction of the Druzhba stadium is nearing completion.
In 2025, the Dukhovshchina Children’s Music School will undergo renovations; new instruments will be purchased for it.
Improvement work will also continue, within the framework of which two public areas and one courtyard were recently put in order, and a children’s playground was installed in Dukhovshchina.
