The football players of the Russian national team played a preparatory match in Krasnodar, attended by 27,000 spectators, against Brunei.

The home team won 11:0 in the match, which was also recognized by UEFA and the result is included in the overall rating of the countries.

It was the highest victory of the Russians in an official meeting. They held the previous record in a match with San Marino in 2019.

The Russians, who were excluded from all international competitions after the beginning of the aggression in Ukraine, are currently ranked 34th in the FIFA rankings. Brunei footballers are ranked 184th.

“We could have scored 20 goals,” claimed the captain of the Russian national team, Valery Karpin, after the meeting.
