At the Celje court, the trial of the mother of the child who died last year in a hot vehicle near Prebold, and her partner, continued with the hearing of a minor witness and the presentation of the statements of two other minor witnesses.
At the request of the prosecution, the court panel excluded the public from the trial in order to protect the privacy of minors. As the President of the Senate said Maja Manček Šporina plastic surgeon was also invited to today’s trial Andrej Testenin which the accused performed a cosmetic procedure, but he apologized and will be questioned on December 5.
The indictment accuses the mother of the deceased child and her partner of four criminal acts. These are causing death due to negligence, neglecting minors, cruel treatment and trafficking in illegal drugs, which the accused allegedly sold both to minors and to persons who were in the process of withdrawal.
The boy, not yet two years old, died on June 20 last year due to prolonged exposure to heat. According to the prosecutor Jošta Jeseníčnik the child was in an overheated vehicle for several hours while strapped in a child seat, which is why both the brain and heart failed and the child died.
According to the prosecutor, the child lived in inappropriate conditions, as there were illegal drugs in the house, to which he had access. The child’s teeth were neglected, and his healthy development was also at risk, he said.
