In the unified study application system, the most applications are for basic studies at LU and RTU / Day

Currently, a total of 20,272 applications have been approved in all priorities of the LU, but 4,649 applicants have been approved for one of the LU study programs as the first priority. On the other hand, the number of applications approved by RTU in all priorities has currently reached 10,665 applications, but 2,164 students have indicated as the first priority.

According to the archive of the LETA agency, the number of approved applications does not significantly differ from the admission results a year earlier.

By Monday evening, a total of 10,250 study applications were received, most of which, or 8,949 applications, have been approved. Although the electronic application for basic studies has ended, the application can still be approved in person.

More than 1,000 applications in all priorities were also approved at the Latvian University of Biosciences and Technologies (LBTU), Daugavpils University (DU) and Banking University (BA) – 3,001, 1,530 and 1,078 applications, respectively.

On the other hand, as the first priority, LBTU was approved for 767 applicants, DU – 630, and RÄ“zekne Technology Academy (RTA) – 318 young people.

The fewest applications were approved at the Information Systems Management University (ISMA) – 113 applications, of which 11 were approved as the first priority.

Most of the approved applications are for studies in the “Medicine”, “Computer Science”, “Psychology”, “Communication Science”, “Law”, “Preschool Teacher”, “Business Management” and “Nursing” study programs at the University of Warsaw.

On the other hand, among the approved applications for studies at other universities, the RTU programs “Computer systems” and “Architecture” are the most popular.

The competition in the unified admission will take place in two rounds. The results of the first round are planned to be announced on July 26 after 5 p.m., and the results of the second round – on July 30 after 5 p.m.

The results of the competition will be announced in the “Latvija.lv” e-service “Electronic application for studies in undergraduate programs”, as well as in the form of text messages and electronic mail. After learning the results of the first round of the competition, the applicant must decide whether he wants to continue participating in the competition for the study programs specified in the application or does not want to apply for studies in any of the study programs.

The applicant will get a study place in the first round of the competition if this study place is approved as his first priority as a result of the competition. If it is not confirmed as a result of the competition, the applicant will not get a study place in the first round of the competition, and he will be able to get a study place in the second round of the competition.

On the other hand, if in the first round of the competition the applicant has obtained a study place in his first chosen priority, this study place will be guaranteed to him on the condition that from July 29 to July 30 the applicant will come to the university of the first priority study program to conclude a study contract or to confirm his decision to conclude a study contract within the deadline set by the relevant higher education institution.

If the contract at the corresponding university is concluded in a different period or if it is not possible to come to the university on the specified dates, but there is a desire to keep the study place obtained, from July 26 to July 30 at 4 p.m. on the “Latvija.lv” portal, you will have to activate the “Confirm the obtained place” menu.

Application for studies will take place according to the priority system and as a result of the competition, each applicant will be able to get one study place in one study program. Admission to full-time basic study programs takes place on a competitive basis based on the results of centralized exams.

This is the second school year when high school graduates had to pass the Latvian language, mathematics and foreign language exam at least at the optimal level and two exams out of 14 offered at the highest level in order to obtain a certificate of completion of general secondary education.

The different levels of centralized examinations will be compared by applying coefficients. A coefficient of 0.75 will be applied to the optimal learning level exams, and 0.5 to the centralized exam of the general learning content level. For example, if the student’s performance in the highest and optimal level exams will be evaluated with 100%, then in admission the highest level exam will be evaluated as 100%, and the result of the optimal level exam – as 75%.
