A splendid example of fifteenth-century architecture just a few steps from the Verona Arena, Alcenago Palace It has been transformed into a contemporary residence thanks to a perfect fusion of historical and modern elements.
What was originally a single large venueused as a shop, was redesigned to meet the needs of the client, who wanted to create two bedrooms, a study area and a large living room with kitchen, without the use of wallsdue to structural constraints. The aim of the intervention was to preserve and restore the unique features of the palacesuch as the original brick arches and the 4.50 metre high ceilings with exposed beams, respecting the authentic character of the spaces.
Per redesign the spaces with elegance and functionality, respecting the space and the original details, the Selezione Arredamenti team led by the interior designer Valeria Piacenza has chosen the Freedhome system by Caccaro.
Double-sided and self-supportingthe modules perform a dual function: offering maximum storage capacity and organizing the environments, clearly defining the spaces without interrupting the visual flow. Much more than simple wardrobes, they become real retaining walls.
Thanks to the custom height they were aligned with the structural elements of the building, to visually maintain a cleaning of lineswith the idea of completing them in the future by closing them with glass panels up to the ceiling. To create unity between the rooms, then, the light wood floor, used throughout the apartment, which has allowed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
From the wardrobe in the bedroom to the technical module that hides the laundry roomFreedhome (whose name not by chance means “the liberated house”) has made it possible to adapt the interiors of Palazzo Alcenago to contemporary needs without losing the charm of its historical details.
