Soon, the intersection was blocked by a large force of officers and medics, all of whom provided aid to the injured, tried to record the circumstances, and later to remove the consequences.

Public transport traffic on Žirmūnai street towards the city center stopped completely for several hours. Traffic in other directions is more difficult, but it was possible to move, especially since the traffic lights at the intersection were still working.

As the representative of the Vilnius County Police, Julija Samorokovskaja, told BNS, the accident occurred after 9 p.m. took place at the intersection of Žirmūnai and Šilo streets.

“After the collision, it (fire engine – BNS) overturned, three people were injured, traffic was closed,” said J. Samorokovskaja.
