(Incheon = Newsis) Reporter Dongyoung Kim = Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced on the 21st that it participated in the ‘2024 Shanghai Cross-Border E-Commerce New Quality Productivity Forum’ held at the Shanghai Grand Millennium Hotel in China and introduced Incheon Port as a specialized port for e-commerce cargo export and import to e-commerce companies.

This forum is an e-commerce professional forum hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and organized by the Shanghai Cross-Border E-Commerce Association. About 300 people from global e-commerce companies such as Alibaba, Amazon, Newegg, and Dou attended and discussed key policies and future development directions for China’s e-commerce.

The IPA Shanghai branch operated a special booth under the theme of ‘Incheon Port, a specialized port for e-commerce cargo exports and imports’, promoting Incheon Port’s geographical advantages, maritime special logistics center, and e-commerce specialized zone.

In particular, considering that cargo bound for the US and Europe accounts for approximately 60% of China’s e-commerce exports, the ‘Sea&Air logistics route’ linking ferry and air was actively recommended to participating companies.

An official from the IPA Shanghai Representative Office said, “This forum was a good opportunity to directly inform e-commerce companies, who are the actual users, of the competitiveness of Incheon Port, which specializes in the export and import of e-commerce cargo,” and added, “We will continue to actively promote Incheon Port’s e-commerce infrastructure and strive to increase the volume of e-commerce cargo handled through Incheon Port.”
