Increased frequency of traffic on important roads

High temperatures and an increased frequency of vehicles are expected in Montenegro today on important roads and in urban areas, the Auto Moto Association (AMSCG) announced.

AMSCG stated that, due to high temperatures, drivers are recommended to plan longer trips in the early morning or evening hours.

On the regional road Đurđevića Tara – Mojkovac, in the town of Sokolovina, traffic is suspended for all vehicles due to a rock split.

On the main road Nikšić-Vilusi, on the part of the Nikšić-Kuside road, traffic was changed from two-way to one-way, and occasionally it was completely stopped for no longer than 15 minutes.

Due to the reconstruction of the main road M-2 section Bijelo Polje-Barski Most, border crossing Dobrakovo, the traffic at the work sites was changed from two-way to alternating.

On the main road M-2, section Lepenac-Ribarevina-Poda-Berane, in the localities of Lepenac-Ribarevina, Ribarevina-Poda and Poda-Berane, traffic has been diverted from two-way to one-way due to reconstruction and is occasionally suspended for up to 30 minutes.

In the Budoš tunnel, vehicles will operate alternately from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. due to lighting works.

On the main road Nikšić-Vilusi Phase I, Vukovo most location, due to the works, the traffic regime was changed from two-way to one-way at the work site.

On the main road Lipci-Kotor, in the town of Dobrota, due to the adaptation of the sidewalk, traffic is alternating in one lane at the site of the works.

Due to the construction of the Vilija Branta boulevard on the M-2 main road, the Podgorica-Bioče section, there is two-way traffic with traffic signals installed.

The traffic regime has also been changed from the Podgorica-Cetinje-Nikšić intersection to Komanski Most.

The AMSCG stated that until September 15, the traffic of goods vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7.5 tons is prohibited, every day from 17:00 to 22:00, on the main road Debeli Brijeg-Herceg Novi-Kotor-Tivat (Krtolska razkrsnica)-Budva – Bar-Ulcinj – Border crossing (GP) Sukobin.

During the same period, traffic for goods vehicles will be prohibited on the main roads Podgorica-Sotonići-Petrovac and Podgorica-Mioska-Kolašin, as well as on the road Podgorica-Cetinje-Budva.

As it was announced, motor vehicles will not be able to travel until September 15 on regional roads Kotor – Trojica (intersection with M-1), municipality of Kotor, to Krstac (intersection with R25), municipality of Cetinje, and R-29. section Bar 2. – (“Ćafe” tunnel, intersection with M-1) municipality of Bar, to the town of Kamenički most – Krute in the municipality of Ulcinj.

It is stated that until September 15, the traffic of M2 and M3 category buses (light and heavy buses and so-called vans) and camper vans will be prohibited every day on sections of several regional roads.

Traffic for these vehicles will be prohibited on the section of regional road R-1 from Krstac (intersection with R-25), in the municipality of Cetinje to Trojica-Kotor (intersection with M-1), from the direction of Njeguš in the direction of Kotor.

It is added that bus traffic will also be prohibited on road R-29, on section Bar 2 – (Ćafe tunnel, intersection with M-1) to Kamenički most-Krute, in both directions, except for buses that provide public city passenger transport .

As it is added, buses will not run on the R-25 road on the Medjuvršje-Lovćen section from the parking lot to the Mausoleum in both directions.

The AMSCG pointed out that the ban does not apply to vehicles with the right of way, for road maintenance and PTT installations, for roadside assistance, special vehicles for transporting animals, concrete, asphalt mass, for refrigerators that transport perishable goods and vehicles that transport water and dangerous substances on the part of the road from GP Debeli Brijeg via Herceg Novi and Kamenar to the roundabout in Lipci.
