Last week Ineos Automotive announced that production of the Grenadier (SUV) and Grenadier Quartermaster (pickup) is being suspended for an unknown period of time, as the British company no longer has access to a critical component because the component’s supplier is experiencing serious financial problems.
It is now understood that that supplier is Recaro, which filed for bankruptcy last July, with Ineos chief executive Lynn Calder saying it could take until early next year to fix the problem and restart the production at the car industry’s only factory, located in the city of Hambach, France.
