Infantry Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Cem Demirkan, who was injured in the Claw Lock operation, became a martyr

In a statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, it was reported that Infantry Lieutenant Colonel Demirkan, who was injured as a result of an IED explosion during the search and sweep operation carried out in the Claw Lock operation region on July 4 and whose treatment continues in Gülhane Training and Research Hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions and became a martyr.

The statement said, “We wish God’s mercy upon our dear martyr who lost his life in this incident that has caused us deep pain and sorrow, and we offer our condolences and patience to his grieving family, the Turkish Armed Forces and our noble nation.”

Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler also shared a condolence message for Infantry Lieutenant Colonel Demirkan, saying, “On behalf of myself and the members of the Ministry of National Defense, I wish God’s mercy upon our heroic martyr, and offer my condolences and patience to his grieving family and our noble nation.”
