Inside it has a passage of terror for Halloween night

We are at that time of year in which our own and adopted festivities begin to accumulate: there is already nougat and polka dots in some supermarkets coexisting with pumpkin-shaped sweets and witch costumes, zombies and ghosts. Yes, ‘Halloween’ (celebrated on the night of October 31) and our All Saints’ Day are almost here.

Although festivities dedicated to remembering the deceased are increasingly popular on this side of the ocean, in the US they always go much further. To the theme parties, impossible costumes and even eye-catching car decorations, we can now also add “spooky experiences” in car washes. And we are not saying this because of the damage that drivers are exposed to in these tunnels.

This car wash has everything you need for a scary night

In three different cities in Southern California (USA), Anaheim, Lakewood and Duarte, there is a car wash tunnel that in recent years has been giving a lot of talk among people looking for strong or different emotions to spend Halloween night. . Is called “Haunted Carwash” or “Haunted Car Wash Tunnel”, open until November 2.

This peculiar car wash, unlike the rest, only works at night. All customers have to do is stay inside the car and let themselves go while the machines clean the car and the scares and surprises begin to appear.

“As your car moves slowly, sinister performers will jump out of the shadows and chilling special effects will envelop you in an atmosphere of true horror,” the website says. “With chilling surprises lurking around every corner, this is a Halloween experience designed to keep you guessing.”

Although not all vehicles are welcome, in accordance with the site’s safety regulations. “Vehicles over eight feet tall, models with lowered suspension or extra wide tires are not permitted,” nor motorcycles, nor models with more than four wheels, nor “with damage to the bodywork, loose parts or accessories,” etc.

Additionally, this haunted car wash reserves the right to refuse to wash any vehicle “that we determine, in our sole discretion, may be damaged or cause damage to our machinery or other vehicles.” Although from the videos it is certainly a curious experience, it is not exactly new.

Southern California has been hosting this immersive ‘haunted attraction’ in its car washes since 2020, although it is taking place in more and more cities (with the Duarte tunnel being the novelty this year). The price? 30 dollars per vehicle or about 27.60 euros in exchange for leaving your car shiny with an extra thrill.
