Instagram announced a new feature designed specifically for creators who receive a lot of direct messages (DMs) on the platform. President of Instagram Adam MosseriAccording to , the new update solves one of the annoying problems for content creators: filtering the messages that are important to them.
Instagram users with a creator’s account will now be able to filter message requests in their inbox by sender. Similar to Gmail’s labels, the feature allows users to categorize incoming mail and easily access it by tapping on the labels. Creators on Instagram will be able to sort messages by last message received and number of followers.
Additionally, with the new update, creators will be able to sort and filter message requests by verified accounts, businesses, creators, and subscribers. This will help creators identify high-priority messages and respond to them first.
The update also brings a “Stories Replies” folder that will store all the Stories you have replied to. Sorting and filtering options will be available at the top of the inbox, allowing users to quickly navigate to stories and message requests.
Instagram announced last week that it was reducing the video quality of posts that were not viewed.
