A new rumor is circulating in Chinese Weibo that Intel will release its Xe2-based graphics cards, also called Battlemage, next month. The leaker doesn’t share details on specifications, but claims that the graphics cards should deliver excellent performance.
– As both the Geforce RTX 5000 and Radeon RX 8000 series are expected to be released close to the turn of the year, a December release of Intel’s Battlemage would be strategically optimal. The company is the underdog on the graphics card market and would have to be first before the floodgates are opened for the green and red teams’ cards, says Jonas Thörnqvist, test editor at SweClockers.
According to a leaked benchmarking test, one of the upcoming Battlemage cards ranks between the Arc A750 and A770 in computing power. However, how the graphics cards will perform in games is unclear.
Previously, we reported that the Battlemage cards are expected to be in the mid-range segment, which means that Intel is likely to compete more with AMD than with Nvidia, which dominates the graphics card market.
