Intel brings cache tile to server designs

This could be somewhat of a response to AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology.

For now, Intel does not want to respond directly to AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology, but something similar is coming, which can be expected very soon. All this a the 8 o’clock it was revealed from a video uploaded to the YouTube channel called, which can be viewed below.

According to Florian Maislinger, Intel’s communications manager, the company is preparing a cache tile, which will be used as part of a server design next year. Here, it is expected to function as a kind of L4 cache, so it is unlikely to augment the shared, functionally last-level cache, and it will certainly not be placed in a 3D case, but next to the processor part. Regardless, it can serve you well, because AMD also benefits a lot from 3D V-Cache in certain areas, you only need to run memory-intensive applications with it, which is why there are examples on the server market.

Intel’s spokesperson has not yet spoken about a solution for the desktop market, but admitted that 3D V-Cache technology has a lot to offer gamers, even though it has some disadvantages for traditional applications. From the latter point of view, he was certainly thinking about the performance resulting from the smaller clock speed.
