Intel starts with its mid-range battle mage

Alongside the BGM-G21 GPU, a larger version was previously produced and is still being produced.

Intel would rush to introduce its Arc B-series VGA family using the Battlemage architecture, which will be the first to start with a mid-range GPU. It is codenamed BGM-G21, but in fact this was not the only development, as there was also a BGM-G10 design. The latter disappeared somewhere in the ether, and maybe that’s why there were rumors earlier that the company wouldn’t publish the Battlemage series.

The BGM-G10 probably wasn’t powerful enough to be worth launching, but we do know that another chip is in the works, which will be a larger edition of the BGM-G21. So there will be an Arc VGA with Battlemage architecture that is faster than the soon-to-be introduced Arc B580, we just have to wait for it.

According to our information, there was no significant performance difference between the BGM-G10 and the BGM-G21, which could be due to the fact that the latter is capable of a higher clock signal, and its consumption is also more modest. This presupposes a difference in terms of the applied production technology. However, the design that is currently being prepared, which is considered a quasi third board, is already based on the BGM-G21, only with a physically larger configuration.
