Breakdown in the match between Inter Milan and Arsenal.

In the second hit of Wednesday’s program, Paris Saint-Germain lost to Atletico Madrid 1:2 at the Parc des Princes. Slovakian defender Milan Škriniar sat out the match on the bench in Paris.

His compatriot Dávid Hancko played the entire duel for Feyenoord Rotterdam, but the Dutch team lost to RB Salzburg 1:3.

Inter entered the match very actively, and Denzel Dumfries could have already taken the lead in the second minute. However, the Dutch defender’s shot only hit the crossbar, and a few seconds later, Hakan Calhanoglu’s attempt from mid-range was also missed.

Subsequently, the duel turned into a tactical battle, while both teams were careful in defense. It seemed that a goal would not be scored in the first act, but a moment from added time changed that.

After a direct round, home team Mehdi Taremi tried to threaten the goal in a neck-breaking position, and after finishing the Iranian attacker, the ball hit the hand of the defending Mikel Merino.

The head referee István Kovács immediately ordered a penalty kick, which was confirmed by the VAR system and Calhanoglu sent the Nerazzurri into the lead. At the same time, he ended the impenetrability of the Spanish goalkeeper David Raya, who did not concede even once in the opening three duels.

Inter focused on the defensive in the second half, Arsenal’s activity was without a resulting effect and the Milanese did not concede even in their fourth appearance in the competition. The Gunners recorded their first loss in this edition of the LM.

Defender Milan Škriniar did not feature in the Parisians’ starting line-up even in the fourth meeting. The French champion started actively in Princes Park and dominated the ball in the first half.

Coach Luis Enrique’s team took the lead when Warren Zaire-Emery punished the visitors’ poor play in the 14th minute. Despite the defensive performance, “Los Colchorenos” managed to equalize just four minutes later thanks to defender Nahuel Molina.

In the second half, the hosts were again more active, Achraf Hakimi could have decided twice, but goalkeeper Jan Oblak kept his team in both cases.

The Madrid team managed to strike in the final seconds when Angel Correa handled the ball well on the edge of the penalty area, stuck a defender and secured an important second victory for the visitors.

According to assumptions, the picture of the game in Belgrade looked like. The favored guests from Barcelona dictated the tempo of the game and in the 13th minute opened the score with a header by Inigo Martinez.

A single shot on goal was enough for the home team in the first half to equalize, and in the 27th minute striker Silas made his mark. However, the “Blaugranas” went into the cabins with the lead when Robert Lewandowski added his fourth accurate strike of the competition shortly before the break.

The Polish striker made his mark even shortly after the change of sides and did not take too long for his second accurate strike. Jules Kounde’s low cross flew through a small area, Lewandowski only directed it into the net with his thigh at the back post, and with his fifth accurate strike in the competition, he moved ahead of Harry Kane from Bayern and Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon.

The Brazilian Raphinha joined the company of five-goal scorers two minutes later. Substitute Fermin Lopez added another goal for the Catalans, and Hansi Flick’s men boast the best offensive in the competition.

Due to problems with urban traffic in Munich, the start of the duel between Bayern and Benfica Lisbon was delayed by 15 minutes. The opening action belonged to the Bavarians, who sent five shots at the guests’ goal, while the closest to the goal was English gunner Harry Kane in the 34th minute.

However, his finish with his weaker left foot did not have the necessary force or accuracy, and the situation was solved with ease by the visiting goalkeeper Anatolij Trubin.

In the second half, the Munich team added five more shots on goal, of which Jamal Musiala’s header took over in the 67th minute. After two defeats, Bayern have fully scored for the second time and have six points, the same as Benfica.

The players of French Brest are still without a loss. They won 2:1 on the ground of weakened Sparta Prague.

The Czech champion played without the injured Slovak winger Lukáš Haraslín, forward Veljko Birmančevič was also absent due to health problems, and Danish defender Asger Sörensen was ruled out of the game due to illness.

With 10 points, Brest moved to fourth place, two points behind the leader FC Liverpool, which is the only one that is 100 percent after four duels.

Aston Villa players recorded their first defeat in the main stage. The English team lost 0:1 in Wednesday’s match of the 4th round at Club Brugge.

The victory of the Belgian representative was arranged by captain Hans Vanaken from a penalty kick in the 52nd minute. Only FC Liverpool remained 100% in the competition, which has 12 points after four matches.

The first point is still waiting for the players of Young Boys Bern, who failed in Gelsenkirchen, where Shakhtar Donetsk plays home matches.

The Ukrainian champion scored his first win after goals from Oleksandr Zubkov and Georgi Sudakov.
