The players of Inter Milan won Saturday’s match of the 18th round of the Italian Serie A against Cagliari Calcio 3:0. Slovakian defender Adam Obert started for the home team and was replaced by coach Davide Nicola in the 59th minute.
The Milan favorite got to the first shot in the 3rd minute, but the goal was not scored until halftime. Obert also flashed several times when he won a corner kick for his team and a moment later on the other end he himself destroyed the guests’ chance.
However, the winning shot went right through the left side of the defense, which did not guard Alessandro Bastoni – the full-back finished with a header to the far post. With the win, Inter secured the leading position ahead of Atalanta Bergamo and Cagliari is eighteen points below the relegation zone.
Parma won 2:1 over Monza, using a numerical superiority in the formation, and Lautaro Valenti scored the winning goal from a corner kick. His team jumped to 14th place in the incomplete table, Monza has not scored since the end of November and remains in last place.
At the twelfth Empoli, in the next Saturday’s duel, Genov caught up on points, winning 2:1 on the ground of the Tuscan team. Caleb Ekuban scored the winning goal in the 68th minute to make the score 2:0.
