Internet service may be interrupted for 4 hours at midnight today

Bandwidth service of all circuits connected to Kuakatai station in Patuakhali will be closed for four hours from 2 pm on Saturday for maintenance work or may experience slow speed.

Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCPLC) has informed this information in a circular.

According to a notification signed by General Manager (Operation and Maintenance) of the organization Saidur Rahman, the country’s second submarine cable system installed at Kuakata by the SEA-ME-WE-5 (SMW5) consortium from 2:00 pm on Saturday to 6:00 am on Sunday morning. Plans are made to install lighting filters.

Bandwidth service of all circuits connected to Kuakata Landing Station through SMW5 submarine cable will be out of service during said time. However, at the same time the circuits of SEA-ME-WE-4 (SMW4) submarine cable from Cox’s Bazar Landing Station will continue to operate as usual. Internet customers may experience temporary Internet slowdowns or Internet service interruptions during the maintenance work.

BSCPLC authorities sincerely apologize for the temporary inconvenience to the customers.
