Which regions are affected?

From the beginning, the Ochsenkopf transmitter in the Fichtelgebirge, built in 1958, was of great importance not only for the Bavarian northeast, but also for Thuringia and Saxony, which borders it to the east.

In Bavaria, the regions of Bayreuth, Tirschenreuth, Wunsiedel, Bayreuth, Tirschenreuth, Wunsiedel, Hof, Bayreuth, Wunsiedel, Kulmbach, Tirschenreuth, Coburg, Lichtenfels, Neustadt ad Waldnaab and Kronach are particularly affected by the shutdown. At least in Bavaria, at least some limited reception may still be possible via neighboring transmission systems.

The one-hour broadcast interruption on October 24th also applies to digital antenna television DVB-T2. In this context, the two ARD multiplexes will be switched off between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. Specifically, the first ARD-Mux on channel 40, which includes NDR television in addition to Erste and other nationwide ARD television programs. The second ARD Mux on channel 30 includes both versions of BR television, ARD Alpha, as well as the third programs from SWR, HR, MDR and rbb. All programs are broadcast in HD.
