Ruma gives, Ruma helps
The Municipality of Ruma plans to invest 75 million dinars plus VAT this year in the improvement of Atar roads. The project is supported by the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry with the amount of 71,957,369.69 dinars, while the rest of the funds and VAT will be provided by the local self-government. The President of the Municipality of Ruma, Dušan Ljubišić, said that the arrangement will cover 20 kilometers of Atar roads.
They have continuously invested in the Atari road network over the past years, but this year they will reach a record length of almost 20 kilometers. This will significantly facilitate and speed up access for farmers to their crops and fields. As a responsible local self-government, they do everything in their power to support farmers and optimally invest available funds, said Ljubišić. The revitalization of Atar roads will cover 12 Qatari municipalities.
Belgrade and Kiev in cooperation
The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dr. Aleksandar Martinović, with the mediation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and in the presence of the Secretary General of that Ministry, Dusan Kozarev, held a meeting with Ukrainian businessman Sergej Dedečkov. The topic of discussion was possible cooperation in the field of grain and oilseed processing.
During the meeting, the Ukrainian businessman expressed his intention to build a large plant for the processing of agricultural products in Serbia, whose final products with added value would be intended for export. It is planned that raw materials such as soy, corn and wheat that will be used in the processing will be exclusively from the Republic of Serbia, purchased from domestic producers. The total value of the project is estimated at 150 million euros, and the factory is expected to employ around 300 workers.
Minister Martinović emphasized that foreign investments of this type are welcome. He added that the Republic of Serbia is sending a message that it is open to cooperation with everyone. At the meeting, it was agreed that the Ukrainian businessman should submit a Letter of Intent to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. After that, further steps in potential cooperation will be determined.
