Although the strategy of splitting season 2 into two parts does not seem to have been the most judicious as part 2 did not have the same buzz as the first, Prime Video still believes a lot in his Invincible (and that’s a good thing), its animated series adapted from Robert Kirkman’s comics. The proof is that the platform took advantage of the San Diego Comic-Con to please the fans.
The SVoD service has confirmed a season 4 around Mark Grayson’s learning of the superhero life, which also seems to imply that Amazon intends to take the adventure to its conclusion, that is to say to the end of the story in its paper version. Even if nothing is set in stone for a fifth season – where seasons 2 and 3 had been announced together.
Good news, but we will still have to be patient since season 3 is currently in production and (we hope) it will not be released before 2025 at best. Or even the first quarter of 2025 as was the case for season 2. Therefore, we can assume that the slot for season 4 ofInvincible could be early 2026. Fingers crossed.
New costume, still Invincible
Well, like the panel dedicated to his animation for adults couldn’t be satisfied with this nice but light information, Prime Video has turned up the heat a bit by presenting Mark’s new costume, dressed all in blue, for season 3. In the comics, this is a wish of the old tailor Art Rosenbaum who no longer wants to see the old one. It remains to be seen whether this will be kept in the anime or whether the writers want to imagine a greater reason behind this change of clothing.
All that’s left is to wait for the official release date of this season 3 on Prime Video and we really hope that, this time, the new batch of episodes will not take a break in the middle, just to not let the iron cool down while it’s still hot. Especially since unlike other adaptations that slow down the pace to get extra screen time – like the last season of The Boys -, we cannot say thatInvincible puts the foot on the brakes in terms of the evolution of the plot and the characters. Another reason not to play on the expectations of the fans excessively. Just saying, just saying.
