Apple continues to introduce new features on iOS 18, and with future updates, such as iOS 18.2, the system will be further enriched. One of the coolest features is an option that will indicate the estimated time needed to charge your iPhone.
This new feature, discovered there 9to5Mac in the beta 2 code of iOS 18.2, it uses a technology called BatteryIntelligence, designed to estimate the duration needed to charge the iPhone. Based on the amount of energy received by the device, BatteryIntelligence will be able to indicate how much time is left to reach specific charge percentageslike 80%. Furthermore, the user can choose to receive a notification with an estimated charging time to reach a certain threshold.
At the moment, the feature is still disabled, which suggests that Apple is finalizing the details before the official release. There is a possibility that this option will be enabled in a future iOS 18.2 beta or subsequent update.
With iOS 18, Apple has already introduced several new features that help users better manage their device’s battery. It is now possible, for example, to set a maximum charge limit between 80% and 95% to preserve battery life over time. Additionally, the system notifies the user when the iPhone has been charged with a low-speed charger, a useful feature for protecting long-term battery health.
