iOS 19 will be just as scalable as iOS 18

A particularly bad one, dare we say, this year for Apple, as it gave the public one bad software update after another, while its profits grew only because of more efficient manufacturing, not high demand. Then there’s also the matter of the Apple Vision Pro which may soon end production. Now, Mark Gurman who trusts his sources and represents Bloomberg, reveals that iOS 19 will see a staggered release like iOS 18.

iOS 18 which arrived with a lot of promises about Apple Intelligence, is being released in different phases because the announced features were not actually ready in time. We first realized this when Gurman, who got a chance to experience Apple’s AI first hand earlier than most and found comparisons to Gemini inconceivable at the time. According to him, Apple still had a long way to go and then, we saw it all happening before us, as Apple told us that its AI features would be released to the public in upcoming phases. In fact, the iPhone 16 launch was so disappointing that Apple’s stock started falling when it was announced. This was probably heavily influenced by the fact that Apple Intelligence was not available on the iPhone 16 at launch and was not available in the EU or China at the same time.

As it is, we will continue to receive only very basic features this December – integration ChatGPT και Genmoji – and we won’t see any more additions until next year. Even worse, Apple has delayed the Siri refresh until 2026, well after the iPhone 17 launch.

Based on his sources, Gurman says that iOS 19 will be just as scalable as iOS 18. Most of the major features that iOS 19 promises to bring won’t be delivered until iOS 19.4. This, Gurman noted, is consistent with Apple’s recent plans to reduce annual releases for its products. However, it also means that newer iPhone models won’t have the same launch-day charm that their predecessors had.

We will also be in favor of moving away from annual publications, but in a way that benefits the consumer. Better to make everything slightly more modern than release an unfinished product and promise future updates to fix problems and deliver on promises.
