The iPhone 16 includes in all its models a new button on the side edge that Apple has called camera control, which is nothing more than the much-rumored capture button. This new button allows you to quickly open the device’s camera and access the camera settings in a somewhat peculiar but accessible way. Little by little Apple will try to give more use to the camera control. In fact, iOS 18.1 will incorporate a new feature among those already available in camera control: selfie mode. With just a swipe we can switch to the front camera without touching the screen. As for how it is used, that’s another story.

Camera control allows the user to quickly access the camera. iPhone 16 and to change settings, modes and configurations quickly without pressing the screen. Apple assured that it would be adding new features to this camera control and the first change will be introduced in iOS 18.1 since beta 5 has incorporated a new selfie mode, which is nothing more than the switch to front camera from either of the rear cameras. When this new version is available, users with an iPhone 16 will be able to access this mode by gently double-pressing the camera control and accessing the menu Cameras. Next, slide your finger to the left and a new icon will appear that allows you to switch to the front camera.

Remember that iOS 18.1 will be released in the coming weeks as its development is being finalized with the publication of the latest betas for developers and public betas for users enrolled in the program.
