Based on the certificate published on the Chinese social platform Weibo, Apple’s iPhone 16 devices announced on Monday already support up to 45W wired fast charging, so compared to the predecessor of the series, the speed of wired charging via USB-C connection has been increased by more than 50 percent.
All new iPhone 16 models were tested at 45 W in the measurements of the China Quality Certification Center, while the maximum value for the iPhone 15 series was 29 W. The already available 45 W charging of the iPhone 16 surpasses the 27 W capabilities of the Google Pixel 9 model, but it is on the same level as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, these values still fall short of the 240W fast charging capabilities of phones from Chinese manufacturers, including Realme’s upcoming 320W fast charging technology.
