Apple launched sales of its new smartphones last Friday, the 20th, and in just a few days it has already faced a huge wave of reports of a serious problem with the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. The problem is related to the screen and the solution could be complicated for the Cupertino company.
iPhone 16 already receives complaints...
The complaints, and subsequent confirmation from hundreds of users, began in Reddit r/iPhone. The company's biggest fans have been testing their new device for a few days now, which has led them to notice a "flaw" on the screen of the Pro and Pro Max models. Initially, it was believed that the touch response failed randomly.
Several users, in fact, began to comment on very similar experiences on their iPhone 16, revealing that the screen of the Pro models did not count finger pressures. After a few hours of complaints, comments and discussions, a conclusion was reached: iPhone touch is disabled when touching the area around the new camera button.
In other words, the screen no longer receives touch feedback when your finger presses the area marked in the image below. Whether accidental or intentional, the rest of the screen - except for the top area to lower the control center - stops working and stops responding.
Is it intentional?
The fact is that it doesn't seem like a coincidence that only that part of the screen causes the touchpad to lock. In other words, Apple has included a new button, certain features and a special interface for that part of the screen, so it is normal to think that the company did this on purpose.

On the other hand, it's possible that the new camera button has nothing to do with the problem.
